God’s Incredible Grace in Our Lives:
- Man, Jesus has just been so good to me……. 11 years ago I was addicted to drugs, had a felony warrant out for my arrest, and was considering taking my own life. I had no purpose to live, no joy, and certainly no hope. After overdosing on drugs, I began to ask myself, why am I here? What is the purpose of my life? Why can’t I do what I know is right?
- Through the questions, God started to reveal himself through his creation and my conscience. I turned myself into jail, and wouldn’t you know it, there was a King James Bible in my jail cell! God was drawing me. I started to read the red letters of Jesus for the first time and understand who God is. I started to pray for the first time in my life. After my release, God was faithful to me again. As I was waiting in the lobby of the jail, a group from the First Baptist Church addiction recovery ministry was coming into the jail. God had a divine appointment for me. Those men invited me to go to church the next Sunday and it was the first time in my life that I heard preaching. God was speaking directly to me. After the service, my old track coach saw me and asked me if he could take me out to lunch…..
- That man opened up the Scriptures with me and showed me Romans 5:8: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” God loved me so much, that even while I was in my worst sin, Christ died for me. He told me that Jesus was 100% God and 100% man and that He came down from heaven to die on the cross as a sacrifice for my sin. He shed his blood, died, was buried, and 3 days later rose from the grave to prove that He is God. And if I wanted my sins to be forgiven, know that I have a place in heaven, and get a new start on life, all I had to do was believe on Christ by faith. He shared Ephesians 2:8-9 with me: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” I saw that all I had to do to be saved from sin and have a place in heaven was believe in the death, burial, and resurrection by faith.
- On March 29, 2014 Jesus Christ saved my soul! He gave me eternal security, power over sin, and joy and purpose in my life. Now, Meghan and I believe every person in the world should have an opportunity to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is worthy of worship, and that is why we do what we do — for him!
Luke 19:10
“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
